Is a local high school diploma bad?will it hold me back?

Ok.so I live in New York and they have these stupid regents exams,if you lass the regents exams with atleast a 65 you get a regents diploma,the for iep students,they have the option of taking a substitue instead of the regents,but they get what is known as a "local diploma",is it a bad thing to have? Bc if it holds me back,I won't take it, bc as you know,special Ed kids are not treated the sane as others.
