I noticed today that my IP address is shown in a different city than the computer is actually located in. The computer is in Charlotte, but the IP is Winston-Salem. It's the sane way with my friends. Why is this?

I'd say if you can nail a barre chord on an electric but not acoustic then your fingers aren't strong enough. Try lighter strings. If you start messing with your guitar's action you're going to mess up the intonation and that's unacceptable.

Would I be able to go en pointe successfully in 10th grade?

I have been taking dance since I was 3. I quit ballet after 7 years. Now I am 13, in 8th grade, and want to do ballet again. I take ballet barre right now, which is a non serious ballet class, but we still do everything you would in a normal ballet class. I want to take the serious ballet class next year, in 9th grade, and hopefully be en pointe by 10th grade. I do have the proper technique for everything and am flexible (also i can do a double), but I could get stronger. Would I be able to go en pointe successfully in 10th grade. How can I improve petite allegro/ grand allegro?

I have been dancing ballet for 14 years and I must say that I have worked hard and become a strong dancer. However, when it comes to petite allegro and grand allegro, my instructors tell me I need to improve. I have a really hard time with allegro on the whole, but specifically I feel like my bottom half of my body is detached from my top half and I can't seem to get my feet to move fast enough or my legs to use pleay enough (bad spelling, sorry!) Also, my leaps are not where they should be as they are low and uncoordinated. Help! Need a little guitar tip?

I'm trying to perfect my guitar play of this song: Ross Copperman- They'll Never Know. It has fairly basic chords, but I have trouble with transitioning between the resounding E maj chord and the A maj barre chord in the chorus. I also have the same problem between the E maj chord and the B maj barre chord found in the verse. So my question is! Are there any good ways to transition between regular chords and bar chords (that appear higher on the neck)? Or is this something that I'm going to have to practice over and over again until I get it down? Well it really depends on your amp guitar. If you have a strat... Your pickups are just going to scream and sound weird on a heavy channel. And yeah most **** that you hear that is clean isn't really that clean they master the tracks on the computer. Buy a Les Paul and a Marshall dude!!!!!!!!!! :D Some guitars strings they ring well but not well balanced with eachother so like the G string might ring higher than the A per se and it'll sound weird. I have a 2 year old daughter and want to move out of Arkansas. and have some big custody questions Please help?

Right now I live with my 2 year old daughter in Arkansas. I would like to move up to Colorado with her but I need to know what needs to be done ahead of time. Well, you're right..you won't be able to go on pointe if you're scrunching your toes. When you point your foot, try to remember that your foot is an extension of your leg just as your hands are an extension of your arms. When you tendu, think of lengthening your leg and sending your energy out through your feet and toes, as opposed to bunching all your energy up in your toes. Lengthen your toes when you point. Keep thinking length, length, length, not curl, curl, curl. You're probably trying to point you feet as hard as you can to achieve that "banana" shape everyone love... but it sounds like you naturally have a good foot with nice arches. Don't focus so much on how hard you can point, think of sending your energy out through the foot. Also, laying on the floor with the soles of your feet together, either laying on your back and coaxing your knees closer to the floor, or on your stomach (keeping your hipbones on the floor...your feet will be off the floor for a while) will help to open up your hips. However, no exercise will move you along faster than training your mind to use your turnout properly, from the hips, all the time. Turning out from the ankles is a recipe for disaster either in your ankles or knees. Don't do it! If you really want to be a dancer, you have to realize your body is your instrument...and you control it with your mind. Dedicate yourself to turning out properly in every ballet class, and I guarantee you'll see a difference. Also, of you can find a good Graham class, the floorwork will also do wonders for your turnout. Good Luck!

Chords are the easiest thing for me. But doing intricate melodies or just little pieces in a song that don't require chords are, like, h e l l for me. I think it's because I've been practicing chords for so long and haven't really dedicated much time to learning melodies and things like that. So, what I'm asking for is some techniques you know of that can make it a little easier. I know I've got to practice often, and my hands might not be as, um, nimble as they used to be because I do lots of barre-chords on a wide necked guitar (it's a Washburn classic). Any ideas?

Dance classes...help!?

I think it would really stretch your dancing ability by taking classes at two different levels. The easier class will probably be slower so really take the time working all of your muscles to their maximum ability. And for the modern classes ive taken, we normally do lots of stretches and warm ups in the beginning that we aren't used to. I'm always the sore the next day. Then, we start learning a dance that our teacher has already coreographed. Hope this helps:)

How long will it take to get onto pointe?

Hi! I have been taking jazz and tap classes for 7 years (counting this year) and modern for 3 years (again, counting this year). Two years ago I took a semester of ballet, and the year after that I took one full year of ballet class. As of now, I am taking three ballet classes (1 pre-pointe, and 2 technique classes) which equals to roughly + 225 minutes a week. Then I am currently taking 75 minutes of jazz and tap a week and 60 minutes of modern a week. I am fairly good at ballet and I can hold a releve passe balance (without a barre) for around 10 seconds. I also use a resistance band usually once a week and do eschappes and releve's at home. I am also 15. I feel very confident about dance and I am one of the best in my class. However, I have only had about 2 years of ballet experience. Do I still qualify for pointe shoes? I know it really depends on my teacher, but I would like a rough estimate of about when I can go on pointe. And don't worry, I am not going to go buy pointe shoes without permission. I'm not that stupid :) Thanks guys!!!

It's probably your hand position more than anything else. Also, if you hold the neck of your guitar upwards it can cause even more decreased blood flow to your hands and that can also create the pain you are experiencing.

Well I used to be from a different district in my county, and my mom decided to move me districts after middle school because she said that the school district really close to where i live (different city but really close by, like 5 min) is a much better academically. And i have been at this school for two years now and its been proven to me that the schools are totally different. Way harder here than at my old one. My friends from the other district are all in higher classes than me an in AP and HONORS classes and for my junior i am not taking any of those higher classes. And whats bugging me is that most of them have a chance to go to a university because of their easy grades and i won't be. Trust me guys, i know its like your saying hey their smarter than you, but NO we are at the sane level. Our school gets a lot of transfers from other cities and students from the previous city i went to school their and they also say that it is 10x harder at this school than their previous one. lol its kind of uncommon for an insane person to suspect that they r insane, but it does happen sometimes. talk to a doctor abt it. it does sound like u may hav a cpl metal disorder that r contributing to this confusion. but thats rly the best advice anyone can give you, because only the doctor can put u on medication to make this stuff go away. i do think u hav something that needs medication tho.

Mother is confining me this summer?

My mother is confining me to the house the WHOLE summer. She won't let me hang out with my friends or enjoy doing anything outside. She just wants me to practice the piano the whole time. enough, my mom has a heart condition that she just recently found out about (Cardiomyopathy) she is a single mother who has taken care of me (17 years old) and my older brother (22 years old) the best she possibly could without help from my father. Now that my moms boyfriend is gone we can not afford our house that we have lived in for 17 years. My brother refuses to get a job and help financially because he claims he did enough help when he worked for 4 years (only job he ever had) I am 17 and work almost full time AND go to school with great grades, I pay my mom every 2 weeks from my paycheck about 75% of it. I have tried and said everything possible to motivate my brother for the past 2 years and he says that me and my mom always bash on him everyday and that he does so much work around the house... He vacuums and mops and does dishes.. He sits on his *** all day and eats our food that WE have to pay for so the least he can do is clean.. But he seems to think if he gets a job no one will clean? Makes no sense.. I even told him we would all 3 help with the house chores if he would just provide some income help. That is all we have been asking for. My mom only makes 1100 a month and the mortgage is 900. I pay about 400 a month total because I also have my life to worry about.. (Car,clothes,work,school) can't all revolve around my family not to mention I only make 350 every 2 weeks working at a local PizzaHut. My mom has been paying for his cigarettes for the past 2 and a half years... He is in to my mom for about 1100 dollars. He won't even go look for a job and when we even say a word he freaks out with anger and disrespects us in a very rude fashion (**** you,*****,idiots,etc...) very hurtful toward my mother who is 52 and could die at any time of her life due to her bad heart. He thinks he has to have weed to keep him sane all day which I have to pay for. If he doesn't get high it's like a crazy person pacing through the house yelling and bitching at me and my mother. He is in my opinion deliberately mooching from us and I want him out. We cannot afford a 3rd grown person to sit and eat all day while showering twice a day and staying up all night using the electricity.. How can we go about removing him from the home and having him evaluated by a psychiatrist because all of his actions point toward Schizophrenia and I am worried if we leave him with no where to go he may hurt himself. Please explain to me some good ways of taking care of this horrible stressful situation. Help!!! PLEASE!!

Help about bar chords in the guitar?

I started playing the guitar about 2 months ago and I took guitar lessons but I'm having a little trouble with barre chords. I don't really have a problem in making a barre chord sound good. I just don't know how to change barre chords quickly because before I strum them on songs I first make sure that my fingers are positioned well and correctly so that it'll sound good. I can usually position my index finger and middle finger quickly, but it seems like my ring finger and my pinky finger is always late. I hate those two fingers. I don't have much problem in using the normal chords and plucking, but when I see barre chords in a song, it's like I don't wanna play it anymore because I know I can't catch up with the timing. So I'd just like to ask some tips on how to play barre chords quickly in a song. Like, changing from a normal chord to a barre chord. Thanks in advance!

No control over my horse when jumping!?

I am getting a little sick of some of the stunts my horse pulls. He is fantastic with the flatwork, but as soon as we start jumping he completely loses his mind and runs away as if something is charging after him. I've got zero control as he runs flat out. I turn him in smaller and smaller circles until he stops. It isn't a training issue - we've been jumping for a while, though not higher than 80cm. It is my fault though, because before a jump I get tense and he rushes into it and runs away with me after. When I circle and stay calm, he goes into the jump beautifully, but still runs away with me after, even when we do little jumps. I have also tried turning him into the fence, halting and then reining back, but as soon as we try jumping again, he loses the plot again. I am terrified of him at the moment, even though he is the sweetest thing doing flatwork. I am jumping him in a Waterford bit. My instructor got on once, but he doesn't do anything remotely as silly, so it must be me. I try to stay calm, but in the end I feel like bursting into tears. Please, no stupid or rude answers like stop jumping. I do enjoy it when he is sane, (which sometimes happens) but at the moment I am frustrated and scared. Help?

Planning ahead... What to do when I go for University?

It's totally possible to keep a horse and go to college. I'm almost done and have managed to have 1-2 horses the entire 4 years. Well Ive had these issues before: my phone is turning off by itself I'll press a button for a calendar and it'll take me to the tools section of the phone and then it freezes like every 5 minutes and all the keyboard keys are like pushed into the keyboard abd it's hard to txt and it randomly deletes my messages after like 5 mins if it's not locked. Your SAT score indicates that you are just finishing the work, but not really understanding or thinking about your work. Let's be real. Getting into colleges like Berkeley is EXTREMELY competitive. You need to re-take the SAT or ACT and study for it. Work on your essays for entrance. When you get out of college you will be competing for jobs, so you had better get used to it.

I know how to subtotal and I know how to sort but how do you do both. ok, so I know they say not to put cereal in a bottle... and not to feed cereal to a baby until they are older, but here is my situation... i am a recently single mother of 2, and my youngest is 6 weeks. Ballet: confused whether I should move myself to Elementary level?

Ok I've been doing a beginner's ballet class for around 6/7 weeks now, and unsure whether to move myself up as it's kind of getting repetitive. Throughout the whole lesson it's just work at the barre which I know is COMPULSIVE, but we only ever dance for 3 minutes at the end.. I thought Elementary would be to much but I've just seen a Beg/Elementary class which I think would be a good transition? Should I go for it? I know most of the positions but even if I didn't I could just copy the other people? The classes I go to are open and relaxed without grades so they don't tell you whether to move up or not, only thing I'm not too good at is stretching but I think this would improve?

Going over pointe shoe box because of arch and ankle?

I've been on pointe for almost a year now. My teachers says I have a pretty arch and need to learn how to controll it. My right ankle has gotten a lot stronger, but the left is weak. If your main goal is to get scholarships, then you should sign up for advanced classes and work really hard at everything you do. Science and mathematics are good choices for a gifted student, but you want to have a rounded transcript (& life) so join the drama club or a local theater group, take art classes or enter your art in some shows or contests, sign up with the debate team, volunteer with a political candidate's campaign, your choices are only limited by your own ideas and desire to pursue them. Don't try to decide your career yet, it is too soon for that -- you don't even know all the options that are out there yet. I've not mentioned Buddhism because it is a private choice, not something you can or should pursue in a scholastic setting. My father has been using the same pharmacy for at least 5 years and had gotten a new prescription about a year and a half ago to help him with his blood sugar since he's diabetic. He had to get the pills since he is overweight and has high blood sugar and needed them to lower it. Well my dad isn't in perfect health other than that, he had Guillain Barre Syndrome in the past and now he's having post-Guillain Barre, which is basically the same symptoms of post-polio. Well anyway, he had been taking those pills for a year and a half and that pharmacy had been getting crappier and crappier. Finally, my mom decided to switch pharmacies yesterday (they're both the same company, just different locations) and they found out that the other locations' pharmacy had been giving my father the wrong pills. There are two different strengths of the same pill and my dad had been given the stronger pills and had been taking them for OVER A YEAR. While on the pills my dad experienced double vision and a lot of times he would get so tired that he had to fall asleep many times throughout the day..now we know it's because of the pills. They had been so strong that they dropped his blood sugar every day so drastically that he just basically passed out. My father talked to a lawyer and they said there's nothing they can do, but isn't there something that we can do to make them realize that they could have killed my father for giving him the wrong medication?

If someone were to cheat fate, per say, how would they go about it? I have this theory that if you wind up doing something that was not predetermind and not meant to happen that fate has to give you one wish or one request for being clever or powerful enough to outdo them. At night I get really strange and insane?

During the day I'm like any normal person. I behave fine i can do any thing with no problem. I can watch any tv show or movie with out freaking out. But around like 7 I start to get weird. I get really hyper and i have alot of energy. Then around 10 it starts getting alot worse. I start getting even more hyper and I say the weirdest stuff with out thinking. I get crazy ideas and every idea I think of I do. Then at 2 is when it gets really bad. I get asked if I'm high every time I am sleeping over with some one who isnt used to my crazyness at night. I'm learning barre chords now at my guitar lesson. Wow... I was told to practice the F and b flat barre chords. I have trouble though. It hurts first of all. As you already know, open chords are generally played on the first few frets. Barre chords allow you to move those same chords to other places on the neck by "barring" with your first finger, basically the same thing you would do with a capo, but you can't quickly move a capo from fret to fret during a song like you can your finger. So take the E open chord you already know. Now instead of making that chord on the first two frets, try moving it down a couple frets, it will now sound completely wrong. Now hold down all of the strings (barre) with your first finger and then make the E open chord with your other 3 fingers in front of that barre. You have just made your first barre chord. Power chords are just what they sound like, powerful. With power chords you are usually just playing the last (fattest) 2 or 3 strings which gives a very fat and powerful sound, think AC/DC for instance. The basic definition of a scale is this: "A scale is the notes you use to get from one note to that same note 1 octave higher." A scale is also something to build a lead or riff off of. For instance Zakk Wylde is known for using the minor pentatonic scale in many of his leads.Hope this helps.

How do you play guitar barre chords?

It is just a dexterity issue. When you first started learning open chords you probably had the same issue. Now that you are trying to make barre chords your hand is in a more restricted position because of having to keep that first finger down. It will come with practice, but think about keeping the hand more open (the palm further away from the fretboard) so you can get those fingers coming in straight, perpendicular to the strings, which will keep you from muting the strings. It will take time. I remember the first time I was shown barre chords, I swore that I could never do it, now I just laugh when I think about that. It will come with time, I promise.

You have lots of training!! But the general guideline for starting pointe (without other dance training) is about 4 years, if not more depending on age. However, judging by your amount of other dance training, I think you should be able to go on pointe within the next year and a half- two years. Don't rush it, you could really hurt yourself!! I didn't start until I was twelve and had already been dancing 9 years, and I don't regret waiting AT ALL. Plus, it hurts. Like alot :) But anyways, you could probably start soon, just talk to your teachers about it.

Taking a bus to Ocean City, Maryland?

Hey everyone, Good afternoon. This summer (late June) me, my bestfriend & his girlfriend want to go down to the beach after she graduates from school. We don't want to drive because of gas prices, so we were looking into taking a bus down. We are going to Ocean City, Maryland. I looked online for a couple hours yesterday & found NOTHING. I found a Martz bus that would take us to Atlantic City, and then we'd have to take a ferry & a taxi to OC,MD. That is just too much of a headache & god forbid we miss a ride, we'd be stranded. So can anyone tell me what's the best way to go about this? We'd be leaving from the Wilkes-Barre area of PA, and wanting to end up in Ocean City, Maryland. There HAS to be some way this is possible. You can't learn on your own. You need corrections and guidence from a trained teacher or you will create bad habits and have to unlearn and relearn everything you have tought yourself. Disaster waiting to happen, any advice on how to contain the brewing storm?

I grew up in a really awful situation. My mother was extremely abusive and tormented me growing up. Things got so bad my mind couldn't take it, blacked out after witnessing a friend get hit by a semi, and I can only recall things that had either the strongest emotional effect on me or trivial things like what my teacher's name was in first grade. I could remember faces of people, know my relation to them, but I couldn't remember anything I had done with them or what they were like. Because they expected me to, I began to act a certain way and sorta became someone who wasn't really me when around a whole lot of people. At the end of May last year, I went to the police station and was laughed at, but a DHS lady was kind enough to help me out. I was seriously messed up in the head and wasn't exactly what people would refer to as 'sane'. I started school, met a really good friend of mine who helped me find myself although he didn't really mean to. We get along great, and have for the entire time we've known each other. He's almost everything I look for in a guy. I've only had three relationships, one with a perv who slept with my mother in 8th grade, one in 9th who wanted to be with me because I reminded him of a little girl because of how short I am, and at the end of 9th grade who turned out to be a stalker. I've only ever held hands with a guy, that's as far as I let any of those relationships go. Period. Now, I'm with someone who's become my best friend. He's shown me all kinds of things, taught me more about my Native American heritage, helped me get in touch with my tribal side, taught me myths and stories of old from all over the world, and he helped me find my sanity. He asked me out a little over a week ago, and I'm proud to say he's my boyfriend. Unfortunately, he's staying with his mother in another state for most of the summer. I completely understand, and I don't mind to much. Although I'm a year older than him and I am his first official girlfriend, our families both don't seem to mind. I currently live with my dad and step mom, by the way. I've spent some time with his family, and I really enjoy it so we're fine with that situation. My problem seems to be me. Although he seems to see all this wonderful stuff about me, as I see in him, I still have this innate ringing in the back of my mind that this won't turn out well. Something bad has to happen. I know that there is a very slim chance that we won't last forever like most insane couples seem to believe in High School, but something in my gut says we might. I can't bring my mind to stop the pessimism and it's driving me insane. He knows about my past, we've discussed it many times, and I've told him my worries and fears. He knows I'm not normal and that my head is still partially warped, and he doesn't mind. He says it makes me who I am, and asked me to simply lean on him. I really want to, but I've fallen in love only once and the situation ended rather badly due to he was more of a child mentally and pretended to be someone he wasn't to get my attention. My feelings were genuine, not a child's crush. I was hurt, and now I'm afraid to love again. Yet, he knows everything, and we've talked about so many things through text since he's as shy as I am and doesn't want anyone overhearing our conversations. We talk everyday, and he knows that all I can see is this ending badly. He understands and always makes me feel better, but when he falls asleep, my mind falls back into the pattern. I don't see myself as good enough for him, but he does. He says sweet things, and asks that I trust him, which I do. I just don't know if I trust myself not to ruin this relationship. Any advice on what in the world I can do to keep myself together? If anything, I want to keep him if I can. There's just something about us, and coming from someone who's extremely analytical about people who best fit with each other and has played match maker a dozen times over for friends and got it right for quite a few years and is only messed up because the other got distracted and regretted it, things just fit. Starting Ballet advice please!?

I am 18 years old, 5'11 and 190lbs of pure woman awesomeness lol But in Ballet that combo is pretty much not so awesome... I Love to dance and I really like Ballet I think its so beautiful I started practicing on my own for about a year because I wanted to lose a lil weight before hopping into a leo and tights so I lost 25lbs and I feel ready I know all my Barre excercises and basics but I just dont wanna be the "Tall chubby girl" in class I know alot of the dancers are super tiny and short and I feel like the Jolly green giant! any advice on how to get over this and things I should do for my first Ballet class would be really appreciated!!

My Knees Hurt. Help me?

I dance, and my knee caps are loose, so my orthopedic doctor suggested I do squats, because I "possibly have an imbalance of muscles on each side of my knee." So every time I'm doing plies at the barre, I can't do a grand, only about half of a demi. My knees also make a popping noise when I get up, and can pop out of place. Anyone know what's wrong?!? If you look at the ocean essencially you are looking at yourself. Seriously I've been paranoid about this for 6 years now. Unfortunately i don't trust anyone so no matter what you say i won't believe you. Problem with the world is if everyone stopped lieing for one day crazy people would take over the world believing everything they say.
