I think my teacher is wrong?

when we do tendus at the barre she sais tendu like tenjew. instead of it sounding like 'ton-doo' it sounds like 'ton-jew' like a jew person. she came from the RAD so i thought it would be right but other people dont say it like tonjew. so how does ur teacher pronounce it thanx
