What happens when you get caught with Safe and Sane Fireworks?

Hi, I've had the cops called on me. The cops took all my safe and sane fireworks, and i live in california. They said that nothing will happen to ME but the fireworks will be destroyed. Will there be anything else that will happen to me? any fines and can they obtain a search warrant and search my house?
