I need help on playing a barre chord :(?

so im a beginner, i know how to play a bunch of songs but always avoided these stupid things cause i never wanted to learn lol i taught myself how to play so i dont have anyone to teach me :( sad day anyways as i try to cover the fret i want my finger is crooked cause it feels like i cant reach that far and it mutes the entire note :'( any tips? Thanks so much :D
