How can i get my f#m barre chord to work ?!!!?

i always try to squeeze with my index finger as hard as i can on my electric,, but still my G string still rings dead !!! :( i just dont have the finger strength i think but i cant find the sweet spot when i roll my finger a but to try to get it right !! :( plz help ! thanks
